If there is a problem with the operation of the grill an error may be detected and presented on the controller screen and Trimal Aus App. The following table is a summary of the errors.
For any electrical component errors, their operaiton can be checked using the test function in the controller menu.
| Error | Error Problem, Grill Action & Solution |
|---|---|
| ERROR 21 Grill temperature sensor | Problem: No signal from grill temperature sensor. Action: Fans on 10 minutes, then grill power off. Solutions: – Replace temperature sensor. – Temporarily use food probe 1 in place or normal grill sensor: Go to MENU > SETTINGS > Grill Temperature Probe > Probe 1. More instructions here |
| ERROR 22 Ambient temperature sensor | Problem: No signal from ambient temperature sensor. Action: Continue normal operation, but assumes 30℃ ambient temperature. Solution: Replace temperature sensor. |
| ERROR 24 Wood pellet sensor | Problem: No signal from wood pellet sensor. Action: Continue normal operation, but hide pellet sensor icon on screen and App. Solution: Check plug connection. Replace if faulty. Pellet Sensor Repair Guide |
| ERROR 31 Auger motor failure | Problem: Auger motor may not be rotating. Controller Action: Fans on 10 minutes, then grill power off. Inspection: – Go to Auger Troubleshooting and Replacement for detailed guidance. |
| ERROR 32 Inner fan motor failure | Problem: Inner fan may not be rotating. Controller Action: Outer fan on 10 minutes, then grill power off. Inspection: – Go to Fan Troubleshooting and Replacement for detailed guidance |
| ERROR 33 Outer fan motor failure | Problem: Outer fan is not using power when on. Controller Action: Grill power immediately off. Inspection: – Go to Fan Troubleshooting and Replacement for detailed guidance |
| ERROR 41 Pellet ignitor failure | Problem: Pellet ignitor is not using power when on. Controller Action: Fans on 10 minutes, then grill power off. Solution: – Turn off pellet ignitor and manually light fire until replaced. – Replace pellet ignitor. Pellet Ignitor Repair Guide |
| ERROR 42 Heating element failure | Problem: Heating element is not using power when on. Action: Heating element will not be used. All modes that use wood pellet heat can operate as normal. Solutions: – Go to MENU > ACCESSORIES and set Heating Element to NO, until new one is installed. – Replace heating element. |
| ERROR 51 Grill High Temperature | Problem: Temperature exceeded 340℃ for >1minute Action: Fans on 10 minutes, then grill power off. Solution: Check grill operation. |
| ERROR 52 Flame Out | Problem: Temperature dropping; likely fire is out – or lid has been left open for too long. Action: Fans on 10 minutes, then grill power off. Solutions: – Do a visual check of the fire grates to ensure they are sitting correctly, no wood pellet build or ash accumulation. – Ensure the grill is started with the lid shut so the temperature can rise. – Power cycle the grill (turn off at back and back on) to reset the controller. |
| ERROR 53 No Fire Established | Problem: Temperature not rising; likely no fire established, or lid left open during fire-up; Grill already very hot. Will happen in the first 5-10 minutes from starting the firing up process. Action: Fans on 10 minutes, then grill power off. Solutions: – Do a visual check of the fire grates to ensure they are sitting correctly, no wood pellet build or ash accumulation. – If grill was already hot, open the lid for several minutes before starting the fire up process and closing the lid again – allowing a temperature rise to occur and the controller to register the fire as lit. – Go to MENU > SETTINGS > Grill Temperature Probe ensure it is set to Grill (Default), and not Probe 1 or Probe 2. – Power cycle the grill (turn off at back and back on) to reset the controller. |
