Benchtop Feet for Built In Kitchen

The S1 can be built into an outdoor kitchen, or simply placed on suitable height benchtop. Instead of mounting the grill on the cabinet, four heavy duty benchtop feet can be attached.

Dimensions

Below are the dimensions of the grill with the benchtop feet installed.

Benchtop Feet Built In Dimensions
  • Ideal bench height is 580mm to achieve a main grill rack height of 900mm.
  • Width of at least 1045mm provides enough space for air flow into the fan inlet on the left hand side.
  • For the grill to sit centrally with even space each side, increase the width to 1145mm.
  • Note the right hand size handle is removed in the diagram above.

Assembly

Watch the video below to see how the benchtop feet are attached.

Built-in Design Considerations

  • Do not block the left hand side of the hopper as the fan requires 100mm of space for unrestrained air flow into the grill.
  • Ensure sufficient clearance both behind and beside the grill.
    • Minimum clearance from combustible material to the side or rear of the grill body is 300mm.
    • Minimum clearance from combustible material above the grill’s closed lid is 800mm.
    • Minimum clearance from non-combustible materials to the side or rear of the grill body is 100mm.
  • The bottom of the grill can reach temperatures of up to 200ºC / 392ºF – and whilst the feet do lift the base up 30mm creating an air gap, the radiant heat is still significant. The bench material must be high temperature rated.
  • Ensure the grill can be easily lifted out (not boxed in with panels) should keep cleaning or repairs be required.

Ventilation

  • Outdoor grills such as the Trimal S1 must be installed with adequate ventilation to ensure safe operation.
  • If the S1 grill is to be installed in a partially or fully enclosed outdoor area, additional ventilation measures may be necessary.
  • Always consult local regulations and engage a qualified professional to assess, size, and install a compliant active ventilation system where required.
  • The diagrams below illustrate the minimum ventilation clearances required to comply with this standard and maintain proper airflow.
  • Check your local regulations if planning to use in an area with any enclosed walls as additional fan forced ventilation may be required.
  • Using the grill under a verandah is fine as it normally meets the requirements for air flow. If the ceiling is very deep, it may accumulate smoke and so forced fan ventilation may be required.
  • Installing a exhaust rangehood above the grill is a great choice.
